"Ways of Seeing"

Kevin Oxley
Kevin Oxley is constantly exploring subjects, ideas and ways of seeing through his art. A recent move to a new, bigger studio has made him aware of a large cross section of work produced over the past three decades which display many creative journeys. For those who have enjoyed Oxley's sell-out shows of work along various themes, they can enjoy seeing where many of those ideas and methods came from.

Judith Rosenberg
A former zoological and botanical illustrator, printmaker Judith Rosenberg presents a series of limited edition prints that include artists’ proofs and artists’ books. A celebration of her love of the difficult and exacting art-form of printmaking, Rosenberg explores the sensual nature of tropical Queensland but with a twist—sprites, dreamscapes, fish and crabs, twining leaves and luscious human forms often leading to the bizarre and mysterious.

This is an exhibition of timeless depictions of life in the outback - from cattle mustering to hanging out the washing; from sheep dogs to brolgas dancing, life on the land is shown for its harsh reality and for its moments of beauty. McAulay’s portraits of stockmen in charcoals and acrylics, capture the wear and tear of hard work along with the wisdom of experience in their eyes. The bush races, a boy flying a kite and even a couple of stockmen playing pool show the lighter side of life away from the city.
