"Working in Bronze is a relatively new experience for me - I started my sculpture career carving wood and then moving on to the glorious medium of marble. After an interesting workshop in bronze - a new understanding of bronze arose.
The whole process of bronze casting was the complete opposite to how I had worked for many years. Each material requires a different approach and each material breaths a different life.
Lately a combination of the three materials have started to appear in my work and this is adding a whole new dimension. My ideas range from abstract forms to abstract female forms."
Fiona has achieved success as a sculptor evidenced by her many exhibitions and private commissions. Fiona travelled to Italy early in her career and spent six months working beside artisans at "Studio Baccoli" in Carrara. She also cast bronzes at Pietrasanta. Fiona now lives and works at Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
