Peter Hudson is a painter 'with his own special paint magic and vision'. Andrew Sibley

The incomparable Australian landscape is Peter Hudson's reason for making art and the inspiration for his unique painterly language. This love of natural beauty and the Australian landscape stems from his childhood in northern, central and outback Queensland. After studying art and design at Queensland College of Art in Brisbane he undertook a jewellery apprenticeship. Since the early 1990s his paintings and jewellery have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The solo exhibition of paintings, 'On His Selection', was the inaugural exhibition at the Caloundra Regional Art Gallery when it opened in 2000. His work has received various awards and is represented in Australian and international public and private collections. Peter lives and works in Maleny in south-east Queensland. Through his paintings, the artist conveys the importance, complexity and fragility of the natural world and his deep commitment to preserving it.
