![]() Judith Rosenberg Printmaking, Bookmaking, Drawing Traditional and Contempory Artists Information
Judith RosenbergJudith Rosenberg trained as a painter in the U.K. at Leeds College of Art with printing as an elective study. Since re-discovering printing (etching) twenty years ago, she has done more printing than painting. She loves the discipline of that art form, the fine line that she can get from this medium and the unexpected image that a finished plate comes up with on first proof! The prints are Limited Edition three-colour etchings printed on Hahnemule (350gms) paper. Judith enjoyed work as a zoological and botanical illustrator especially during work commissions. She thinks that is why most of her images are drawn from the natural world and the surrounding exotic, tropical landscape. The subject matter usually remains in part representational. Judith says ...."With wonder comes almost pagan acknowledgement of the underlying mystery of the life forces that we live with. There is usually a part hidden motif or underlying flow in the works, which cannot be explained or analysed easily. My Hand-Made Book making stemmed from a dislike of waste initially, as I use any reject prints for their covers and signatures. I make many of them, and they often act as a test for how an image plays out with experimentation."
